Direct to garment printing in Melbourne

DTG printing can reproduce standard flat designs, detailed photographic artwork and complex multi-colour art directly onto suitable garments. The process emphasises fine detail and can produce high-resolution, full-colour results without the separate colour screens used in traditional screen printing.
We use high-end Brother DTG printers and water-based inks with professional production processes to achieve detailed, consistent results.
Blast Ink has supplied customers with DTG printing since 2014. Since then, the focus has been on continually refining the process, equipment and production techniques to maintain a professional result.
DTG is used for customers including events, promotional projects, brands and merchandise runs, with Melbourne service and Australia-wide courier delivery.
The DTG process works best on suitable 100% cotton garments and can print artwork on both light and dark colours. Polyester is generally avoided, while blends can produce more variable results and should be assessed before committing to production.
DTG apparel orders start from 20 pieces per design. A digital mock-up confirms the approved design, size and placement before production.

When DTG works best
DTG is most useful when the artwork is detailed and the garment is a suitable cotton product.
- 100% cotton
- DTG performs best on suitable 100% cotton garments. Polyester is generally avoided, and blends can produce more variable results and should be tested or assessed before committing.
- Detailed full-colour artwork
- DTG is particularly well suited to photographic, highly detailed and multi-colour artwork.
- Integrated print
- On suitable cotton, the ink works into the garment fibres so the result generally feels more integrated with the fabric than a heat-applied transfer sitting on the surface.
- Artwork & digital mock-up
- AI, EPS or PDF vector artwork is welcome, with fonts outlined. Raster artwork (PNG or JPEG) should be supplied at 300 DPI (PPI) at the intended print size. The digital mock-up confirms the approved design, size and placement before production.

What is the minimum order for DTG printing?

Can DTG print full-colour artwork?
Yes. DTG is particularly useful for detailed, photographic and multi-colour artwork.
Can DTG print light and dark garments?
Yes, on suitable cotton garments. The production setup differs between light and dark garments.
What artwork can I send?
