High-quality screen printing in Melbourne

Colourful orange and blue screen-printed artwork

At Blast Ink, we employ the traditional Silk Screening (Screen Printing) process with new-age techniques. Orders are produced locally using high quality inks and stringent quality control, to produce prints that are bright, vibrant and extremely durable.

Suitable for bulk orders from 20+ units of the same design up to several thousand. Larger quantity breaks generally improve the per-unit value as setup is spread across more garments.

This premium but affordable Screen Printing process works hand in hand with the diverse range of high-quality products that we wholesale to you, ranging from premium fashion down to promotional.

A diverse range of customers from large international brands and bands to small social groups trust us to supply them with our screen-printing services.

For durable printing that will look great up until the day the garment is ready to retire, custom T-shirt screen printing is a strong option.

If you are looking for T-shirt printing in Melbourne or Australia wide, delivered to your door, work with us on your next project.

What customers say

Artwork, colour matching & mock-ups

Getting these details right before production helps keep the finished print accurate and predictable.

PMS / Pantone colour matching
PMS/Pantone colour references are welcome and can be used to guide consistent colour matching. PMS/Pantone colour matching is included at no extra charge as standard.
Artwork requirements
AI, EPS or PDF vector artwork is preferred, with fonts outlined. Raster artwork (PNG or JPEG) should be supplied at 300 DPI (PPI) at the intended print size.
Digital mock-up & quality control
A digital mock-up confirms the design, size, placement, colours and branding method before production starts. Quality control is then checked against the approved specification.

Some of the ink styles that we offer

Plastisol ink
Durable, bright prints with excellent detail.
Waterbase ink
A very soft, breathable result that can work particularly well on lighter garments.
Discharge ink
A soft-feel option for suitable dark 100% cotton garments, with limitations in repeatability and garment compatibility.
Metallic ink
Metallic finishes including gold, gold shimmer and silver.
Specialty inks
Options can include glow in the dark, high density, suede and puff effects where suitable.

Some of the printing styles that we offer

01
Spot colour
Strong solid-colour designs. Halftones can add extra shades, shading and tonal detail where the artwork suits the process.
02
Simulated Process
Photographic and detailed artwork using separated colours for high detail and bright results.
03
4 Colour Process
Photographic designs using CMYK process printing. Some artwork and garments are more suitable than others.
04
Distressed/Vintage
A distressed texture can give artwork or logos a deliberately worn, vintage-style finish.

Some of the finishing extras that we offer

We also offer several additional finishing services to give business, brand and merchandise apparel a more complete professional presentation.

Relabelling [MOQ 50pcs]
Replace the manufacturer's neck label with custom branding. Woven or printed labels can be supplied and sewn as part of the finishing brief.
Label Sewing [MOQ 50pcs]
Inner neck labels, pip labels and hem labels can be sewn to suit the garment and brand presentation, with woven or printed label options available.
Inner Neck Printing & Transfers [MOQ 100pcs]
Add branding inside the garment using screen printing or heat-applied transfer options, depending on the garment and specification.
Folding & Bagging [MOQ 50pcs]
Each garment can be neatly folded and individually bagged, ready for distribution or sale.

If you require something that is not listed above, we can still likely help you achieve what you are looking for.

Screen printing FAQs

Useful answers about screen printing quantities, artwork, colours, turnaround, delivery and choosing the right branding method.

What is the minimum order for screen printing?

The minimum for screen-printed apparel is 20+ units per design.

Can I mix sizes, garment colours or styles in a screen printing order?

Include your complete size mix and any garment, style or colour combinations in the quote brief. We confirm which items can share the same screen-print setup and how the mix affects pricing before you approve the order.

How many colours can you screen print?

We can produce screen-printed designs with 1–8 spot colours per design. Halftones can also create additional shades, shading and tonal effects where the artwork suits the process. The final recommendation depends on the design, garment, print size and quantity.

What artwork do you need, and can you match Pantone colours?

AI, EPS or PDF vector artwork is preferred, with fonts outlined. Raster artwork (PNG or JPEG) should be supplied at 300 DPI (PPI) at the intended print size. PMS/Pantone colour references are welcome. A digital mock-up confirms the design, size, placement and colours before production.

How long does screen printing take?

Screen-printed apparel is typically produced in around 7–15 business days. The production clock starts after payment and final digital mock-up approval. Rush requirements are assessed case by case and confirmed in writing.

When should I choose screen printing, DTF Transfers (Premium) or DTG?

Screen printing is particularly strong for solid colours, repeatable designs and larger runs. DTF Transfers (Premium), also known as Ultrasoft Transfers, can suit full-colour artwork, small to medium runs or multiple branding positions. DTG can suit detailed full-colour artwork on suitable 100% cotton garments.

Do you screen print customer-supplied garments?

No. Blast Ink only brands garments and products that we supply.

Where do you deliver to?

We deliver screen-printed apparel Australia wide by courier to business and residential addresses, including Melbourne and locations across metropolitan and regional Australia. We do not deliver to PO boxes or parcel lockers.

Tell us about your screen printing job.

Send the garment, quantity, artwork, print positions and deadline you have in mind. We can help confirm the most suitable setup before production.
